Raglan Volunteer Coastguard delivers SAR and breakdown assistance to recreational and commercial mariners on the west coast of the North Island. Their area stretches from Crayfish Point (north) to Tirua Point (south).
The unit functions thanks to a steadfast dedication and commitment from local volunteers. Their volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and offer wide-ranging skills in seamanship, operations, communications, and administration and governance.
Raglan Volunteer Coastguard works in varying sea conditions – sometimes extreme – and cater to a mixed client base including surfers, kitesurfers, paddlers, fishermen etc.
